“I’m So Excited To Be Heading To Malta For The 1st Time To Headline Isle Of MTV” - Katy Perry

MTV has announced that global pop star Katy Perry will headline Isle of MTV Malta 2026, marking her first ever performance in Malta and her debut at the festival.

The event will take place on Wednesday 22 July at Il Fosos Square in Floriana, one of Malta’s most iconic open air venues.

Isle of MTV Malta, organised in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority, has grown into a major highlight of the international music calendar.

Each year it attracts tens of thousands of fans from Malta and abroad, offering free access to performances by some of the world’s leading artists in a unique live setting.

Katy Perry brings with her a catalogue of global hits that have defined modern pop music.

Since her breakthrough in 2008, she has achieved worldwide success with songs such as Firework, Roar, Dark Horse and California Gurls. With multiple chart topping albums and billions of streams, she remains one of the most recognisable figures in contemporary music.

Her appearance in Malta is expected to deliver a high energy performance featuring her best known tracks.

The announcement was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg, who highlighted the importance of attracting major international acts to Malta.

Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef also noted that events of this scale contribute to strengthening Malta’s position as a Mediterranean destination for culture and entertainment.

Further acts for Isle of MTV Malta 2026 will be announced in due course. The festival forms part of Isle of MTV Malta Music Week, running from 22 to 26 July, with tickets to be released online.
