Aġenzija Żgħażagħ has hosted the ninth edition of the Malta Youth Film Festival, providing a platform for young people aged between 16 and 30 to showcase their creativity through film.

This year's festival attracted 14 submissions, highlighting the talent and diverse perspectives of emerging Maltese filmmakers.

Organised in collaboration with the Malta Film Foundation, the festival aims to encourage cultural participation while giving young people the opportunity to tell stories inspired by their own experiences and the issues that matter most to them.

Addressing the event, Youth Minister Omar Farrugia described the festival as a valuable platform for young talent, expressing hope that the awards would inspire even greater participation in future editions. Youth Empowerment Unit Manager Maria C.

Borg praised the continued success of the initiative over its nine editions.

The evening concluded with Evelyn Magro receiving the prestigious Best Picture award for her film Il-Bikja u l-Prestazzjoni, recognising its outstanding contribution to this year's festival.
