Hundreds Gather To Give Final Farewell To Father And Son

Father and son, Steve and Danjel Cuschieri, were laid to rest after their tragic deaths just hours apart.

Danjel’s funeral was held yesterday, while a celebration of life for his father took place this morning.

Minister Clayton Bartolo attended the funerals, sharing a tribute for both on his social media.

“The Birkirkara community is in mourning, after in the span of 2 days, bid farewell to son and father,” shared Bartolo, “Rest in peace dear Daniel and Steve.”

Danjel will be fondly remembered for his kind nature and remarkable ability on the football pitch. During his career, he played for Qrendi F.C., Dingli Swallows, Żebbuġ Rangers, and Xewkija Tigers, with each club expressing deep sadness at the loss of their former player.

His father, Steve, was known for his generous spirit and youthful heart, always showing great care and compassion for those around him.
