HSBC Malta Upgrades Nationwide ATM Network To Enhance Customer Experience And Accessibility

HSBC Malta is nearing the final stages of its nationwide ATM replacement programme, which will see all 62 machines across Malta and Gozo upgraded to new models.
The initiative aims to enhance the overall banking experience by offering improved stability, greater uptime, and smoother daily operation, ensuring customers benefit from a more reliable and efficient service.
A key element of the project is accessibility.
HSBC has upgraded ATM sites to meet the latest standards set by the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability, featuring clearer signage, better lighting, and optimised layouts and heights for ease of use.
Working closely with the CRPD, the bank redesigned lobbies and ATM areas to ensure all customers can access services independently and comfortably.
Several ATMs have been relocated to more convenient sites in San Ġwann, Żabbar, Balzan, Żebbuġ and soon Marsaskala, while new machines have been installed in high-traffic areas such as St Julian’s and Sliema, with another planned for Bir id-Deheb.
Muriel Rutland, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, said the programme underscores HSBC Malta’s commitment to simpler, faster and more inclusive banking.
