How To Spend Your Santa Marija Shutdown

How To Spend Your Santa Marija Shutdown
Local

Starting tomorrow, most people will have a week of shutdown ahead: no work, a slower social calendar and, hopefully, plenty of time to relax.

So, if you’re not heading abroad, here are a few things you can do to make the most of your time off.

Finally tackle that messy part of the house that’s been bothering you for ages. You know the one! Put on some music, dedicate a morning or afternoon to it, and get it sorted once and for all.

Use the week to try something new. And it doesn’t have to be anything big. Listen to an album you’ve never heard, read a book that’s been sitting on your shelf, work your way through your ever-growing film list, or treat yourself to a new restaurant.

Take a day trip. Gozo can get particularly busy during Santa Marija week, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make a last-minute day out of it. Accommodation might be difficult to find, so head out early and spend the day beach-hopping.

And, of course, visit family. See your grandparents, parents or anyone else you always wish you had more time for when work and everyday commitments get in the way.

So tell us… how are you spending your shutdown?
