How Much Extra Money Will You Actually Receive In 2027?

Yesterday's Budget 2027 brought several announcements about higher wages, pensions, tax cuts and a new €1,000 Super Bonus.
But how much extra money will actually end up in your pocket next year?
Here's a simple breakdown of the main changes announced by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana.
If You're Employed – €333 Extra Per Year
The Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) will increase wages by €6.41 per week, equivalent to approximately €27.78 per month or €333.32 per year before deductions.
If You're On Minimum Wage – €541 Extra Per Year
Minimum wage earners will receive an increase of €10.41 per week, equivalent to €541.32 annually before deductions. This already includes the COLA increase, meaning the two amounts should not be added together.
If You're A Pensioner – €520 Extra Per Year
Pensions will increase by €10 per week, adding €520 annually. This increase also includes COLA. Pensioners will also benefit from an increased tax-free pension threshold of €37,624.
If You're Working – Up To €1,000 Super Bonus
Workers who earned at least €12,000 in 2025 will receive a tax-free €1,000 Super Bonus by March 2027. Those who earned between €2,000 and €11,999 will receive between €500 and €925, depending on their income.
If You Have Children – More Tax Savings
Parents will benefit from the second phase of income tax reductions introduced last year.
In 2027, married couples with two or more eligible children will pay no income tax on their first €30,000 of taxable income, up from €22,500 in 2026.
For married couples with one child, the tax-free threshold will increase from €17,500 to €20,000. Other eligible parents will also benefit from wider tax brackets.
Your actual savings will depend on your income, family circumstances and tax computation.
If You're On A Lower Income – Up To €1,500 Extra
The additional COLA payment will continue, offering eligible lower-income households between €200 and €1,500 annually, depending on their income and family size.
If You Have A Child In Post-Secondary Education – €500
Eligible families will receive €500 for each child attending post-secondary education during the first half of 2027.
Other Financial Benefits
Parents caring for a child with a severe disability could receive a Carers' Grant of up to €7,500 annually, while the Carer at Home benefit will increase by €800 to €9,800.
Adoption expense reimbursements will also increase by €1,000, reaching €13,000 for eligible families adopting from abroad.
So, What's The Total?
For example, a worker earning €25,000 annually who qualifies for the full Super Bonus could receive approximately €1,333 in additional gross wages and bonus payments during 2027, before any deductions on the wage increase.
That figure could be higher if they qualify for additional COLA assistance or family tax savings.
The exact amount will depend on your salary, family situation and eligibility. Not every benefit applies to everyone, and several increases already include COLA.
Which Budget 2027 measure will make the biggest difference to you?
