Housing Authority Terminates Contract With Contractor Who Was Supposed To Finish Siġġiewi Project By July 2026

The Housing Authority has decided to terminate its contract with the contractor responsible for the construction of a new residential block in the Wied Ħesri area of Siġġiewi.
The project was scheduled to be completed in July 2026. However, the Authority said it had repeatedly raised concerns with the contractor regarding the limited progress being made and the failure to follow instructions issued by the project architects and managers, Housing Projects Solutions Ltd.
The Authority also said that claims submitted by the contractor for additional payments were independently reviewed and found not to be justified.
The Housing Authority said it remains committed to protecting public funds and ensuring accountability in the delivery of its projects. It stressed that contractors must meet the commitments they undertake and that action will be taken when these obligations are not fulfilled.
The Authority said it will continue taking the necessary steps to ensure that the project progresses, while maintaining its commitment to delivering quality housing through strong governance for the benefit of residents and the wider community.
