Hot And Sunny Weather For Santa Marija Celebrations

The Meteorological Office reports that in the first half of August, daytime temperatures have mostly stayed in the mid-30s, sometimes reaching up to 38°C. Night-time temperatures have remained unusually high, often not falling below 26°C, leading to uncomfortable nights across the islands.
Sea temperatures are averaging 28.1°C about 2°C above normal offering swimmers warmth rather than refreshment. With both air and sea temperatures high, the heat index remains elevated, and health authorities continue to urge people to drink plenty of water and avoid heavy outdoor activity during the hottest hours.
According to It-Temp Madwarna, urban areas in Malta are experiencing even warmer nights due to the urban heat island effect where concrete, asphalt, and other man-made surfaces store heat during the day and release it slowly after dark.
Today, Friday 15th August, is expected to be hot and sunny with a maximum temperature of 33°C. Tomorrow may bring showers, leading into Sunday when thundery showers are forecast.
