Hospice Malta Clarifies & Reiterates Position

In a Press Release sent to media around Malta, Hospice Malta clarified and reiterated that its mission is the preservation of life in a dignified manner until its natural end.
The organisation stated it remains committed to providing comprehensive palliative care, supporting patients and their families through serious illness, and ensuring quality of life without hastening death.
‘Any statements made by individuals, including those previously associated with Hospice Malta, are personal opinions and do not reflect the values or principles upheld by the organisation’, Hospice Malta said in their press release.
This clarification follows recent public comments made by Hospice Malta co-founder Dr Peter Muscat, who expressed personal support for the legalisation of voluntary euthanasia for patients with terminal conditions.
Malta is currently launching a public consultation on voluntary assisted euthanasia, which the public is invited to participate and share their opinion on www.facts.gov.mt
