Transport Malta has announced that the historic tall ship Florette has sailed from Valletta to Sète to participate in Escale à Sète, the largest maritime festival in the Mediterranean.

Built in 1921 and registered in Malta, the vessel is representing the country at the prestigious international event, which brings together more than 120 historic ships from around the world.

Transport Malta highlighted that this marks the first time a Maltese-flagged ship is taking part in the renowned festival, describing it as a significant milestone for the nation’s maritime sector.

The participation of the Florette is being seen as a proud moment for Malta, showcasing the island’s longstanding maritime heritage on an international stage. The event in Sète is known for celebrating traditional seafaring culture, attracting thousands of visitors and maritime enthusiasts each year.
