The Department of Information shared a video clip montage of how carnival in Malta looked a number of years ago.
‘Different floats, familiar excitement - a celebration that continues to evolve’, wrote the DOI.
The video shows people in Valletta on floats and dancing in St George’s Square Valletta.
Kids could be seen playing in the streets as the floats made their way through the capital city.
The celebrations continued from that day every year, with this week culminating in more carnival celebrations as the tradition evolves.
