HBO Max Finally Arrives in Malta

Popular streaming platform HBO Max has officially launched in Malta, marking a surprise arrival that caught many viewers off guard due to the quiet and unexpected nature of its rollout.

The service is widely recognised for its acclaimed original productions, including Euphoria, The White Lotus, The Last of Us and Succession, which have earned global praise and strong audiences in recent years. Maltese viewers now have direct access to this catalogue, alongside a wide range of films and series from Warner Bros. Discovery.

As HBO is owned by Warner Bros., the platform also features major franchises such as DC, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, offering a broad selection of content spanning film, television, and animation.

Commenting on the expansion, JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the company was excited to begin the new year by expanding into major markets worldwide, as it continues to bring HBO Max to new audiences. He added that the upcoming launch in the UK and Ireland later this year will complete HBO Max’s rollout across Europe.

HBO Max originally launched in the United States in 2020 and has since expanded across Latin America, Europe and Asia, with Malta now joining its growing list of supported markets.
