Ħaż-Żabbar Marks 50 Years Since Vulcan Bomber Tragedy

On 14 October 1975, an Avro Vulcan B.2 aircraft of the Royal Air Force crashed into the town of Ħaż-Żabbar after failing to land at the old (RAF) airport in Ħal Luqa. The incident occurred when the aircraft exploded in mid-air shortly after the failed landing attempt.
Six people lost their lives in the tragedy, five crew members on board and a local woman on the ground. Around 20 others were injured, and significant damage was caused to nearby houses, shops, and cars.
