Street signs have popped up around the island giving important health and safety tips for dealing with the heat wave hitting the Maltese islands.

The signs, as part of the Stay Cool Campaign, urge people to remain hydrated and to seek shade often as the sun intensifies in its heat.

The signs also urge people to check on the elderly and pets and animals given that they are more likely to be impacted by negative health effects due to the heat.

These recommendations form part of the Climate Action Authority's 'Stay Cool' campaign, which encourages residents across Malta to adopt practical measures to cope with rising summer temperatures while using energy more efficiently.
