Hardware Store In Gżira Burns Down After 37 Years In Business

Borg Hardware Store in Gżira informed the public that a devastating fire struck their business after 37 years of service to the community.

“Unfortunately, nothing is left and there are big damages,” shared the shop on their social media.

The tragic fire broke out yesterday at around 2:30, and was finally completely extinguished this morning around 9:00am, after 18 hours of tireless work by firefighters.

The business confirmed that no one was inside the fire and thankfully, no injuries were reported. They thanked the Civil Protection Department, Mater Dei, and the police for their assistance with the incident.

“In this moment, all kinds of help (including services) big or small, will be immensely appreciated,” they stated.
