Haley Bugeja Receives EU Flag From President Metsola At Inter HQ

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola is in Milan after being invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.

Ahead of the ceremony at San Siro, President Metsola was the guest of honour of Inter Milan, who welcomed her at their headquarters.

She was received by Inter FC President and CEO Giuseppe Marotta and met Maltese footballer Haley Bugeja, who currently plays for the Italian club.

During the visit, Bugeja presented President Metsola with her number seven Inter Milan shirt, while President Metsola gifted her the flag of the European Union.

Speaking about the meeting, President Metsola said it was a pleasure to discuss Bugeja’s journey and the pride of representing Malta on the international stage.

President Metsola also visited the offices of the renowned Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, where she met journalists and management.

She was presented with a special edition of the newspaper, printed on white paper instead of its traditional pink, to mark the occasion.
