Gżira United Football Club Address Concerns Over Padel Courts Constructed On Manoel Island

Gżira United Football Club have released a statement addressing the current construction of padel courts on Manoel Island, which is allegedly in the works to be turned into a National Park.
The club clarified that the padel grounds being developed at Nicholl Ground on Manoel Island are on “a defined area of government land leased to the club, and should be understood separately from broader proposals concerning other parts of Manoel Island.”
They reiterated their commitment to operating transparently and welcomed any queries to be sent their way so they can be appropriately addressed.
This clarification comes after concerns were raised regarding the implementation of these padel courts, despite the 29,000 signatures from the public asking for Manoel Island to be taken over from private interest.
Yesterday, the Momentum Party released a statement addressing the situation, calling for clarity on who authorised the construction of these courts.
