Gozo's Fig Festival Returns to Xagħra On The 27th Of June

The annual Fig Festival will return to Xagħra on Saturday 27 June, celebrating one of Gozo's most traditional agricultural products with an evening of food, entertainment and local culture.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that the festival will take place from 7pm to 11pm in Victory Square.
Organised by the Xagħra Local Council, the event aims to showcase the fig as both a local delicacy and a symbol of Gozo's agricultural and cultural heritage.
Mr Camilleri said festivals of this kind help strengthen Gozo's unique identity while creating opportunities for the local community and economy.
He said the event supports farmers and local producers, preserves traditional practices and attracts visitors to the island.
Visitors will be able to sample a variety of fig-based food and products, browse local crafts, enjoy live music and family entertainment, and take part in children's activities. Xagħra Mayor Victor Curmi thanked the Ministry for Gozo for its continued support in organising heritage-focused events.
