Gozo Minister Pays Tribute To Soldier Joe Cutajar Who Passed Away In Tragic Crash

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has paid tribute to Joey Cutajar, who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident in Għajnsielem yesterday.

Minister Camilleri recalled that Cutajar had reached out to him just days before the accident, saying only “thank you” regarding an issue affecting local residents. “With the message alone it wasn’t enough; he wanted to meet face to face, but fate had other plans,” the Minister said. “Joe was a man of respect.”

Cutajar, 44, from Nadur, died following a collision between the SuperSoco motorcycle he was riding and a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 41-year-old man from Qala. The accident occurred at around 6.45pm in Triq Borg Għarib, Għajnsielem. Despite immediate medical assistance, Cutajar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Magistrate Monica Vella has opened an inquiry into the incident, while police investigations are ongoing.

Minister Camilleri extended his sincere condolences to Cutajar’s wife, children, and entire family, saying, “You are not alone in this loss.”
