Gozo Electricity To Become More Reliable With €11 Million Enemalta Investment

Enemalta has announced that it will invest around €11 million across 2 tenders to strengthen Gozo’s electricity distribution network and improve supply reliability across the island.

The investment will involve the installation of new underground cables connecting to key distribution centres in Xewkija, Qala and Kerċem.

The larger tender, valued at approximately €7 million, will cover trenching and cable-laying works, while the second tender worth around €4 million will cover the supply and delivery of the cables.

The project will be carried out in three phases, covering Għajnsielem, Xewkija and the Xewkija-Victoria area, incorporating measures to limit traffic disruptions, as well as noise and dust pollution.

The investment aims to make Gozo’s electricity network more reliable, while increasing capacity to meet future expected demands.
