The Ministry for Gozo and Planning has highlighted a series of record-breaking achievements for the island, reflecting the success of government investment and planning initiatives.

Gozo is attracting unprecedented numbers of visitors, both Maltese and international tourists, as ferry journeys on the Gozo Channel continue to grow steadily. Over recent months, the Channel has operated with four vessels, meeting the increasing demand efficiently and ensuring smoother travel for passengers.

In 2025, the Fast Ferry service carried over 1.2 million passengers, setting a historic record and representing an increase of 258,000 passengers compared to 2024.

The Ministry also emphasised Gozo’s success in extending tourism beyond the peak summer season. During traditionally quieter months, the island has seen strong visitor numbers, including December, which featured 165 Christmas-related events that attracted thousands of families and tourists.

These milestones, according to the Ministry, demonstrate the tangible results of ongoing government efforts to strengthen transport services, expand connectivity, and develop Gozo as a year-round destination. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continue enhancing services and creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
