GOVERNMENT TO RESTORE GHAR LAPSI FOLLOWING STORM HARRY DAMAGE

Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia has announced that, following the extensive damage caused to Ghar Lapsi by Storm Harry a few weeks ago, the government will be taking the necessary steps to restore the area and return it to the public.
Farrugia explained that, in recent weeks, a public consultation process was launched to gather feedback and suggestions from the community on the future of Ghar Lapsi. The consultation closed yesterday, generating around 170 submissions.
He noted that several common themes emerged from the proposals, with many respondents emphasising that Ghar Lapsi should remain simple, accessible and safe for everyone to enjoy.
Farrugia confirmed that works at Ghar Lapsi are set to begin in the coming days, with the aim of rehabilitating the site and giving it back to the Maltese and Gozitan public.
