The Prime Minister underlined that the health sector is and will remain one of the Government’s key pillars, not only in terms of physical health but also mental well-being. Regarding mental health, Prime Minister Robert Abela noted the Government’s commitment to strengthening facilities and services, including specialised care, alongside further investment to enhance the skills of those working in this area.

He also recalled that in recent years, the Government has made substantial investments in the health system, both in infrastructure and technology, as well as in healthcare professionals. Prime Minister Robert Abela highlighted improvements in primary care, mentioning the newly operational Ċensu Moran Primary Health Care Centre, which now offers extensive services to patients, including podiatry, physiotherapy, and a respiratory medicine clinic.

“The development of primary care is essential to reduce pressure on Mater Dei Hospital and to make medical care more accessible at the heart of our communities,” he said. He also highlighted the new telephone service for non-emergency health cases, which is already showing positive results. “These are just a few of the initiatives the Government has been working on in recent months,” Prime Minister Robert Abela added.
