Government Assisting 130+ Maltese Citizens Caught In US-Iran Conflict

In a post shared to Twitter/X, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that the government is currently assisting over 130 Maltese citizens caught in the Middle East region as the US and Israel conflict with Iran escalates.
‘Our thoughts are with those caught in the conflict’, the Prime Minister said.
The conflict has spread to other countries in the region, with Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan all reporting attacks.
‘We are currently assisting over 130 Maltese citizens in the region. Our 24/7 helpline is active, and our diplomats are working tirelessly to support our people’, wrote Abela.
‘Please follow all safety advice and travel updates.’ In a separate post, he reiterated Malta’s neutrality being non-negotiable, saying that the government will be addressing every challenge with immediate and coordinated action.
