Government Announces €60M Investment Across Gaming, Esports & Digital Sectors

The Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects has announced eight new investment projects in Malta, worth over €60 million, which are expected to create 1,300 high-quality jobs by the end of 2026.
Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, met with executives from leading gaming, video game development, and esports companies at Trident Park to discuss the sector’s growth and future prospects.
In the esports sector, Imperial, one of Brazil’s largest companies, will open its main European office in Malta this December, while BLAST TV plans to establish a Maltese entity, investing €10 million over the next three years.In video game development, Unity will continue training young Maltese talent to prepare them for careers in the field.
In digital marketing, Clever is set to open a €6 million office in Gżira and has invested €1.5 million in the gaming company NARC. Gentoo Media invested €1.2 million in new facilities, doubling its workforce from 70 to 130 employees.
The iGaming sector is also seeing major growth. Soft2Bet has invested €20 million over four years to train local workers. Religa is set to expand its workforce from 200 to 700 employees with a total investment of €21 million. Eeze announced a €30 million investment in offices, training, and technology, increasing its staff from 500 to 1,200 by the first quarter of next year.
Minister Schembri stated, “We have announced eight new projects, totalling an investment of €60 million, which will create 1,300 well-paid jobs in high-value sectors such as eSports, video game development, iGaming, and digital marketing.”
Gaming Malta CEO Ivan Filletti described the initiatives as a sign of a “strong and forward-looking ecosystem,” fully aligned with Malta Vision 2050.
