Gnejna Watersports Apologises After Poster Placed At Ta’ Marija Cave

Gnejna Watersports has issued a public apology following criticism over the placement of a poster on the wall of Ta’ Marija Cave, one of Malta’s most picturesque and difficult-to-access natural sites.
In a statement, the company acknowledged the concerns raised by members of the public and expressed regret over the incident, describing the decision as disappointing to customers and inconsistent with the environmental responsibility it strives to uphold.
The company explained that the poster had been installed with public safety in mind, but recognised that the action did not reflect its values or commitment to protecting Malta’s natural environment.
Gnejna Watersports stressed that respect for nature remains a core principle of the business and said the poster's placement was not representative of the standards it seeks to maintain.
As a result, the company confirmed that the poster was removed from Ta’ Marija Cave on Thursday morning.
The apology comes after the poster sparked backlash online, with many expressing concern over the impact of signage being placed at one of Malta’s most treasured natural landmarks.
