The half-day event took place at the Grand Hotel Excelsior between 9:00am and 1:00pm, bringing together around 170 female secondary school students from across Malta.

Participants took part in a series of interactive workshops focused on ICT and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, with the aim of fostering interest and skills in the digital sector.

In addition, a number of career desks were set up, featuring representatives from the University of Malta, MCAST, various private companies and government entities. Students had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals and learn about the wide range of career paths available.

The initiative sought to promote greater female participation in technology-related fields.

Minister Silvio Schembri attended the event, where he met with students and representatives from the education, business and technology sectors.

During the visit, he highlighted the importance of encouraging more young women to pursue careers in innovation and digital industries, noting that initiatives of this kind help build a more inclusive and future-ready workforce.

He also praised the organisers for creating opportunities for students to explore career paths in ICT, artificial intelligence and other emerging fields, while engaging directly with professionals and academic institutions.
