According to a recent Times of Malta poll, the Labour Party has widened its lead over the Nationalist Party to 19,600 votes.

If an election were held today, Labour would secure 51.3% of the vote, while the PN would obtain 45% of first preferences, leaving a gap of 6.3 percentage points.

Smaller parties, including Momentum and ADPD, would share the remaining 3.7 per cent.

Labour’s support has risen by over one percentage point since October 2025, when it stood at 50.1 per cent shortly after PN leader Alex Borg took office. In contrast, the PN’s support has remained largely unchanged, dipping only marginally.

This increase translates into roughly 5,000 additional votes for Labour, expanding the gap from 15,000 last October. The findings mirror those of February 2025, which showed a similarly wide margin.

The poll assumes an 84 per cent turnout, slightly below the 85.6 per cent recorded in the 2022 general election, when Labour achieved a decisive 55.1 per cent and a 39,000 vote majority.

Although the PN has improved since its 41.7 per cent result in 2022, it remains well behind.

Conducted by Esprimi among 600 respondents, the survey also indicates a modest improvement in perceptions of government performance, with an average rating of 3.27 out of 5.
