"Għażiż Kap": Bernard Grech pens message of support to PN leader Alex Borg

Former Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech has taken to social media to support current PN leader Alex Borg, just hours after the general election date of 30th May was officially announced.

In a heartfelt message shared online, Grech pledged his full support to Borg, stating that it is now his turn to offer the same loyalty he received throughout his leadership. Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Grech described the role as one filled with sacrifice, but also with “new hope” for the country.

Referencing past predictions of a heavy defeat in the European Parliament elections, Grech highlighted how unity within the party helped shift momentum and restore belief among supporters across Malta and Gozo.

“Today the reins are in your hands, but you are not alone. I am there with you,” he wrote, urging the party to not only close the gap, but push forward towards victory.

He concluded by framing the upcoming election as a moment to deliver “a new breath” for Malta, based on the PN's "Nifs Ġdid" campaign slogan.
