Fundraising Campaign For Shy 3 Legged Dog Carrie Launched
Local

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help Carrie, a shy three-legged rescue dog from North Macedonia, receive a custom prosthetic leg that could improve her mobility and quality of life.

Carrie was previously living as a stray before being rescued and brought to Malta for a second chance. After having one of her front legs amputated, she is now being fostered while she slowly learns to trust people and adapt to her new surroundings.

Recently, Carrie visited Invent 3D Malta for a consultation to determine whether a prosthetic leg could be made for her. The assessment brought encouraging news, with specialists confirming that she is a suitable candidate.

While the prosthetic will not restore Carrie to walking on four legs, it is expected to provide additional support, improve her balance and stability, and reduce the strain placed on her remaining limbs, helping her live a more comfortable life.

The prosthetic is estimated to cost around €1,400, and Our Rescues Malta has launched a fundraising campaign to cover the expense. Supporters are being encouraged to donate or share Carrie's story to help her reach the target.
