Fundraiser Launched To Support Andrea Calleja After Becoming Paralysed

Andrea Calleja, affectionately known as “Batman”, was left paralysed in all four limbs after suffering serious injuries during an obstacle race in 2022.

Since then, Andrea has faced a difficult journey involving intensive rehabilitation and recovery.

Four years on, he is preparing to move from Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital into a specially adapted home, an important milestone towards greater independence and a more stable future.

However, adapting the property to meet his needs has involved substantial costs, while ongoing rehabilitation and daily care continue to place a significant financial burden on Andrea and his family.

A fundraising appeal has been launched to help cover the expenses of making his new home suitable, supporting his rehabilitation and ensuring he has the resources needed to continue moving forward.
