What if happiness could actually be measured?

That’s the question at the centre of DROGI, a new original music-theatre production by The Busker, directed by Sean Borg and heading to Teatru Salesjan in Sliema this November.

Combining music, theatre, humour and social satire, the production takes audiences into a fictional dystopian world experiencing a so-called “Dopamine Drought”.

At its centre is the “Dopa-Meter”, a device created by fictional corporation B-Corp which claims to measure a person’s dopamine levels and, ultimately, their happiness.

Through the stories of three individuals, DROGI explores the different “highs” people chase in everyday life, from relationships and success to validation, attention, consumption and excitement.

Despite its deliberately provocative title, the production is not centred around recreational substances. Instead, it examines our relationship with pleasure, reward and dependency, questioning whether the things we constantly pursue can become our own forms of “drugs”.

The show will also feature music from The Busker’s upcoming album, Something in My Head, blending fictional storytelling with autobiographical elements, humour and vulnerability.

DROGI takes place on 14th November 2026 at Teatru Salesjan, Sliema, with doors opening at 7:30pm and the show beginning at 8:30pm. Tickets are available through ShowsHappening.
