From Battling Cancer At 12 To Graduating In Law: Puttinu Shares Corinne’s Story

Puttinu Cares shared the story of Corinne, a girl who, at 12 years old, was diagnosed with cancer and had to travel to London to seek medical care.

Back then, Corinne explained, there were no Puttinu Cares apartments as they had just started development.

However, the NGO still pitched in and rented her family an apartment, which they shared with two other Maltese families. Fortunately for Corinne, she completed her treatment in London after two months and came back to Malta to continue it here.

Corinne reflected on how she encountered challenges in her life that continued to ‘punish’ her for her illness, especially when it comes to life insurance.

She now graduated in Law and feels like she can contribute in changing this situation which she knows all too closely. More discussions need to happen, but support is there from the industries in question, she said.

‘All those kids who experienced such a challenge or are still going through it can rest assured that this will not be the case forever’, she said.
