Free Year Of ChatGPT Plus Or Microsoft Copilot For Everyone Through New AI Scheme

The Government has launched a new national AI literacy scheme offering Maltese and Gozitan residents a free one-year subscription to either ChatGPT Plus or Microsoft 365 Copilot after completing a short online course on artificial intelligence.

The initiative, titled “AI Għal Kulħadd”, was announced by the Ministry for the Economy together with the Malta Digital Innovation Authority. The scheme is open to all residents aged 14 and over.

Participants will be required to complete a flexible two-hour online AI literacy course, which can be followed on desktop, tablet or mobile devices. Once completed, users will qualify for a free 12-month subscription to one of the two AI services.

The Government said the initiative is aimed at increasing digital skills and encouraging wider public understanding of artificial intelligence technologies as AI tools continue to become more widely used in education, business and everyday life.
