Fr Sergio Fenech Awarded US Army Distinguished Medal

Chaplain Lieutenant Sergio Fenech has successfully completed the Chaplain Direct Commission and Chaplain Basic Officer Leader Course at the United States Army Institute for Religious Leadership in Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

The course provided rigorous academic and military training, preparing officers for service in the field of chaplaincy.

At the graduation ceremony, Chaplain Lieutenant Fenech was honoured with the United States Diplomatic Medal. This award recognised his superior performance of duty and outstanding academic results, with an average that went beyond the standards required for the programme.

‘His exceptional performance was deemed to have contributed significantly to the continued success of the Security Cooperation Education and Education Program at the U.S. Institute for Religious Leadership and reflects great credit upon him, the Armed Forces of Malta, and the Republic of Malta’, explained AFM.
