Four-year-old boy dies after pool incident in Marsaxlokk

A four-year-old boy who fell into a swimming pool five days ago has died, police confirmed on Sunday.
The child had been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital in critical condition after being pulled unconscious from a pool at a private residence in Marsaxlokk on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at around 11:45am in Triq il-Port Ruman. The boy was rescued by people present on the property before being rushed to hospital.
He was placed in intensive care, where he remained in critical condition for several days before his death was confirmed.
A magisterial inquiry is currently underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
