Four Saved in Coordinated Sea Rescue Near St Paul’s Islands

Four people were safely rescued after a boat capsized in the vicinity of St Paul’s Islands, in an operation involving the Civil Protection Department (CPD) and the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM).
CPD rescuers from Station 5 responded to reports of the incident and launched a coordinated search and rescue operation with the AFM.
All four people aboard the boat were located and safely brought onto the CPD’s RHIB Delta 2. They were subsequently transported safely to shore.
One of the rescued individuals was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical assessment. The remaining three were assessed by medical personnel at the scene and were discharged without requiring further treatment.
The CPD thanked the Armed Forces of Malta, the Malta Police Force and the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department for their assistance and coordination during the rescue operation.
The incident highlights the importance of coordinated emergency response services in ensuring the safety of people involved in incidents at sea.
