FORMER PRIME MINISTER ALFRED SANT CELEBRATES 78TH BIRTHDAY

Former Prime Minister Alfred Sant celebrated his 78th birthday on Saturday, 28th February.
Paying tribute on Facebook, close friend and political ally Jason Micallef described Sant as “not only a longtime friend but also part of my extended family. A man of great character, with solid principles and values that are hard to find. With an extraordinary mind and intellect, of which there are very few in politics or public life.”
Sant led the Labour Party from 1992 to 2008 and served as Malta’s Prime Minister between 1996 and 1998. He also held the position of Leader of the Opposition from 1992 to 1996 and again from 1998 to 2008.
Beyond politics, Sant is an accomplished writer and playwright, having published several books and contributing significantly to Maltese literature and public discourse.
