Former Malta Eurovision Star Helen Micallef Passes Away

Helen Micallef, who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972, has passed away.
She did so as one half of the duo for the song ‘L-Imħabba’ with Joe Cutajar, and was the first woman to represent the country in the contest.
Helen started her music career at the age of 10 years old. In 2022, she reunited with Joe Cutajar to sing their iconic track a whopping 50 years later.
Tributes for the singer are pouring in, remarking just how important the mark she left on the local music scene was.
