First Meeting Between PN Leader & Archbishop

The Leader of the Opposition and of the Partit Nazzjonalista, Alex Borg, today held his first official meeting with the Archbishop of Malta, Monsignor Charles J. Scicluna, following his appointment to the role.

The meeting took place during a visit by the PN Leader to the Archbishop at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana.

Archbishop Scicluna congratulated Alex Borg on his appointment and wished him continued success, noting that he will mark his first 100 days in office on Monday. He praised Borg’s commitment to remaining close to the public and highlighted the importance of listening to people’s concerns and difficulties.

The PN Leader spoke about his recent visit to the San Blas Therapeutic Centre, run by Caritas Malta, and explained how he intends to continue promoting policies that ensure no one facing social challenges is left behind.

The Archbishop also referred to the significant work carried out by Caritas and paid tribute to the late Monsignor Victor Grech, founder of Caritas Malta, who devoted his life to supporting those who are suffering or vulnerable. He described Caritas as an important part of the Church’s mission in Malta, providing essential assistance to individuals struggling with addiction.

Auxiliary Bishop Monsignor Joseph Galea-Curmi was also present for the meeting.
