Fire Set & Destroys Four Cat Shelters In Ġnien Tal-Fuklar

Ħ’Attard Stray Animal Support Group shared photos and news of a fire that was reportedly set up and destroyed four cat shelters in the area of Ġnien tal-Fuklar in their village.

‘We had posted happily about these shelters last year, in January when we had set them up’, explained the group.

They expressed devastation that someone could have possibly be annoyed ‘with these cat shelters and wanted to destroy them.’

‘We are always careful when placing cat shelters, that they are neat, clean and aesthetically pleasing. We know that the feeders take care to keep the areas clean so as not to attract any undesirable insects and dirt.’

They thanked the residents of the area who acted quickly and alerted each other as cars were parked in close proximity.

‘Luckily the few strays were unharmed. We are appealing to the residents who live in the area who might have seen something that can help the police to identity and catch the culprits.’

‘Such a fire wasn't accidental, someone must have acted to ignite it and make sure everything was destroyed. We have made a police report and hope that they will manage to succeed in bringing the responsible individual or individuals to justice.’
