Fire Breaks Out In Żebbuġ Sreet-Level Garage

The Civil Protection Department is currently responding to a structure fire involving a street-level garage in Żebbuġ containing ICE vehicles.

Firefighters from Stations 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 were dispatched to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control.

Cooling and ventilation operations are now underway as firefighters work to ensure the premises are safe.

Nearby residents were evacuated from the area as a precautionary measure while emergency crews dealt with the incident.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department, Transport Malta officials and police officers from the 6th District are also assisting with the operation.

The Civil Protection Department said further information will be provided as it becomes available.

The cause of the fire and whether anyone was injured have not yet been confirmed.
