FINAL NIGHT TO EXPERIENCE VALLETTA’S CANDLELIT HOLY WEEK SPECTACLE

Tonight marks the final opportunity for the public to experience the stunning ‘Mixgħela’ installation lighting up Pjazza San Ġorġ in Valletta as part of Holy Week celebrations.
Despite challenging weather conditions that threatened its setup, the candle installation was successfully brought to life through the careful placement of hundreds of candles, creating a truly breathtaking display in the heart of the capital.
Valletta Cultural Agency Chairman Jason Micallef took to social media to share images of this year’s installation, which has already drawn significant attention from visitors and locals alike.
This year’s design is centred around the Holy Chalice, symbolising deep religious significance tied to Ġimgħa l-Kbira. Accompanied by ambient music, the installation offers a serene and reflective atmosphere for those visiting the square.
Set against the historic backdrop of Valletta, the ‘Mixgħela’ has once again transformed Pjazza San Ġorġ into a space of contemplation and beauty.
Those wishing to witness the installation are encouraged to visit tonight, as this is the last chance to experience this unique visual and spiritual spectacle.
