Farewell Call By The Ambassador Of The Arab Republic Of Egypt To The Speaker Of The House of Representatives

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anġlu Farrugia, received H.E. Khaled Anis, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Malta, for a farewell call at the Parliament of Malta.

During the meeting, Speaker Anġlu Farrugia expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Anis’s dedicated service in strengthening the longstanding relations between Malta and Egypt since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1965. He reaffirmed Malta’s commitment to further deepening these relations, which are founded on shared interests in peace, stability, and prosperity across the Mediterranean region.

Ambassador Anis conveyed his appreciation for the support he received during his tenure and reiterated Egypt’s readiness to continue building on the positive cooperation that has flourished between the two countries in various areas, including political dialogue, trade, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections.

Speaker Farrugia commended Egypt’s pivotal role as a regional partner and a facilitator of dialogue in the Mediterranean, highlighting its central role in mediating in Palestine. He also emphasised Malta’s support for continued engagement between the European Union and Egypt, particularly in addressing shared challenges such as regional stability, migration, and sustainable development.
