FAMILIES TURN OUT FOR FESTA ĦADDIEM CELEBRATING PUBLIC WORKS

Families gathered in large numbers for the second edition of Festa Ħaddiem – Minn Id il-Public Works, held on Saturday, 2 May 2026, offering a full day of entertainment and activities for all ages.
The event featured a wide range of attractions, including bouncy castles, Disney shows held every 45 minutes, and live performances by local singers and musicians. Visitors also enjoyed a variety of food stalls, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
Beyond entertainment, the festival highlighted the work of Malta’s Public Works sector. Workers were present on-site showcasing their skills, with demonstrations such as carpentry, stone wall building, and interactive experiences including virtual reality and a flipbook outlining the history of Public Works.
Omar Farrugia, Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works, described the event as a success, praising the National Park as a vibrant space for families and encouraging the public to attend. Meanwhile, Chris Bonett, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, emphasised the importance of recognising workers and preserving skilled craftsmanship, noting that Malta’s progress has long been driven by Public Works.
The festival continues into the evening with music, lighting, and entertainment, while children’s areas remain open. Activities will also take place on Sunday, 3 May from 10:00am onwards, making it a weekend celebration for the entire community.
