Eve Borg Bonello Visits Cleansing & Maintenance Division

PN Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Public Cleanliness Eve Borg Bonello visited the Cleansing and Maintenance Division today at the invitation of Parliamentary Secretary Glenn Beddingfield, in order to gain first hand insight into the Division’s operations.

During the visit, Borg Bonello met with workers, toured the control room and call centre, inspected vehicles, and held discussions on daily operations and the challenges faced by the Division.

She thanked the Parliamentary Secretary for extending an invitation and for the spirit of collaboration shown.

The visit followed a summer of discussions with local councillors, industry professionals and other stakeholders, which contributed to the development of the PN policy document Innadfu lil Malta. The document has been issued for public consultation.

Several high level issues were discussed, including clearer delineation of responsibilities and the main challenges that continue to affect the sector.

In her concluding remarks, Borg Bonello thanked the Division’s workers for their dedication and hard work. She said that being an effective and proactive opposition requires constructive dialogue with all relevant entities, acknowledging what is working well while also identifying areas where improvements can be made.
