Minister for European Funds, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, together with the Chief Executive Officer of Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta (SEM), Rodrick Zerafa, visited the new facilities of FNG Supplies Co. Ltd in Rabat.

FNG Supplies, one of Malta’s leading importers of fruit and vegetables serving restaurants, hotels, and other catering establishments, benefited from around €100,000 in European funding through the Business Enhance scheme.

With this support, the company invested approximately €200,000 to relocate its operations from Wardija to a larger facility in Rabat. The investment included a new cold room, electric lifter and stacker, and improvements to the warehouse infrastructure aimed at preserving product quality and enhancing operational efficiency.

Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi praised the company’s efforts, stating that this project is a clear example of how European funds are helping Maltese businesses to expand and innovate. “This is an investment not only in business but also in workers and the broader Maltese business community,”

He further emphasised that the Government will continue strengthening these schemes to enable more Maltese enterprises to invest in technology, energy efficiency, and the modernisation of their operations.

From his end, SEM CEO Rodrick Zerafa remarked, “It is very rewarding for SEM to see such investments materialising through European funds across businesses of all kinds. These initiatives demonstrate that with our support, and through the commitment of business owners, European funds are being transformed into modern and sustainable practices that ultimately benefit consumers.”
