Eurodesk Malta Marks 35 Years Of Guiding & Empowering Youth

The 35th anniversary of Eurodesk Malta was marked by an official celebration in which the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, highlighted the service as a key source of information, guidance and opportunity for young people in Malta.
He noted that Eurodesk, operated through Aġenzija Żgħażagħ with support from the European Commission and EUPA, has long served as an important link between Europe and Maltese youth.

Focusing on this year’s theme, Youth Information in the Age of AI, the Parliamentary Secretary underlined the challenges faced by young people who navigate a digital environment where information is instant, abundant and often unreliable.
In this context, he said Eurodesk provides trustworthy guidance that helps young people make informed choices about their future.
He praised the work carried out over the years and said that Eurodesk gives new meaning to the idea of opportunity by offering a safe space where young people can access credible details about programmes such as Erasmus+, the ESC, DiscoverEU and various traineeships.

According to him, the platform encourages young people to broaden their horizons and explore Europe with confidence.
He also stressed that Eurodesk Malta contributes directly to the first EU Youth Goal, which focuses on connecting the EU with young people. This requires impartial information services that reflect today’s cultural and technological realities.
Maria Borg, Manager of the Youth Empowerment Unit at Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, said the programme remains a model of structured support that has helped many young people take life changing steps.
