€660,000 Renovation Project Completed at Hamrun Police Station

The Malta Police Force has continued strengthening its presence within the community through further investment in infrastructure, following the completion of extensive renovation works at the Hamrun Police Station. The project, which began in 2024 and involved an investment of around €660,000, modernised the building to provide a better service to residents of Hamrun and surrounding areas while also creating a more suitable working environment for police officers.
The station will officially reopen to the public tomorrow after undergoing major structural and interior upgrades. Works included the renovation of ceilings, installation of new drainage, water and electrical systems, as well as new ventilation and air-conditioning systems. New apertures, tiling, ceilings, furniture and façade works were also completed as part of the project.
Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, Byron Camilleri, said the government remains committed to strengthening the Police Force’s presence in the community through continuous investment in infrastructure, equipment and human resources. He added that the project will help provide a more professional and modern workplace for officers while improving services for residents.
Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà said the renovation aims to enhance both the officers’ working environment and the quality of service offered to the public. He added that the Police Force is continuing to move towards a more preventive policing model focused on stronger community presence and intelligence-led policing to further improve security across the country.
