€20.5 Million Investment & 22 Projects Approved To Create More EU Funded Opportunities

More than 170 organisations in Malta are set to benefit from €20.5 million in European funding after 225 projects were approved under Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
The projects, approved through the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA), will create new opportunities in education, training, volunteering and international cooperation, while helping organisations strengthen their skills and capacity.
During a grant award ceremony, Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection Keith Azzopardi Tanti said the strong interest in these programmes reflects increased awareness among schools, educators, youth organisations, sports associations and voluntary organisations about the opportunities available.
“The true measure of success lies in the opportunities we create for people, and every euro must translate into new skills, stronger organisations and communities that move forward,” the Minister said.
EUPA Chief Executive Officer Raphael Scerri encouraged more organisations to take part, describing Erasmus+ as more than a funding programme. He said it provides opportunities to develop learning, create European partnerships and better prepare students for the future.
The ceremony highlighted how European programmes allow participants to gain international experience, exchange good practices and increase their involvement in society.
The Government said it will continue working to secure further opportunities for Malta through European programmes for the 2028-2034 period, focusing on education, training, sport and volunteering.
The aim is to ensure European funds continue delivering practical benefits by helping individuals develop their potential and contribute to their communities.
